Marriage... a path to holiness

“The earth is filled with harmony and trust when the alliance between man and woman is lived properly. And if man and woman seek it together, between themselves, and with God, without a doubt they will find it.” - Pope Francis

Parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Portland are joyfully answering the call to celebrate and support sacramental marriages.  Marriages create families, and families are the Body of Christ. 

Parish support is critical for husbands and wives as they learn to give and receive love unselfishly, and then teach their children to do so as well. Christian marriage in particular is a “great mystery,” a sign of the love between Christ and his Church (Eph 5:32).
